2022 – Type Specimen
A tactile type specimen designed to celebrate Bastardo Grotesk*ish, a bold display typeface by Italian designer Giulia Boggio. Printed on a single sheet of A2 tracing paper and folded into a booklet, the piece pays homage to Giulia’s background as both a tattoo artist and graphic designer. The transparency of the paper allows layered type and imagery to interact visually through each fold, reflecting the expressive, permanent yet evolving qualities of tattooing. The result is a playful, experimental specimen that invites users to engage with the typeface in a fluid, hands-on way.
