2022 – Type Specimen
A tactile type specimen designed to celebrate Bastardo Grotesk*ish, a bold display typeface by Italian designer Giulia Boggio. Printed on a single sheet of A2 tracing paper and folded into a booklet, the piece pays homage to Giulia’s background as both a tattoo artist and graphic designer. The transparency of the paper allows layered type and imagery to interact visually through each fold — reflecting the expressive, permanent yet evolving qualities of tattooing. The result is a playful, experimental specimen that invites users to engage with the typeface in a fluid, hands-on way.
